Vahe Engibarian’s Independence Day Message

Dear friends,

On 21 September 1991, the people of Armenia voted for independence. Thirty-five years on, the significance of that decision endures: the right to shape our country’s future and the responsibility that comes with it.

Independence is strengthened by the work of each generation: by the quality of education, the advancement of science and culture, the opportunities we create for young people, and our respect for human dignity. It rests on the knowledge, dedication and everyday efforts of those who help our country move forward.

For Armenians around the world, the bond with our homeland carries a particular meaning. Our experience, professional relationships and achievements can open new possibilities for Armenia. Whether by supporting a young talent, sharing knowledge, preserving our heritage or building a business that serves a community, each of us can make a lasting contribution.

This is also how I understand the purpose of the Armenian Assembly: to bring people together around meaningful initiatives, support education and culture, and strengthen the ties between Armenia and the diaspora.

Today, I express my gratitude to all those who have served our country, and continue to do so, with courage, dedication and a deep sense of responsibility.

I wish Armenia peace, security and prosperity, and every family wellbeing and confidence in the future. To the younger generation, I wish the opportunity to build fulfilling lives in their homeland, knowing that their knowledge is valued and their talents have room to flourish.
